Tonight came in for dinner. Ended up having the special Chuletas De Cero, with mash potatoes, carrots, it was totally amazing and delicious. Great place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Mae the owner is fabulous. Always acknowledges you when you come in. Friendly atmosphere.

While visiting outside PV my wife ventured into PV a few times a week with a friend. Stopped for coffee and wanted to eat supper there one evening. Charming very little restaurant with a few tables indoors but with Covid-19 we sat at one of…the 3 tables on the sidewalk. Small menu but our extremely pleasant waiter offered to make alterations to suit our taste. Had a few cocktails and then supper arrived. The tortilla soup was the best we’ve had in PV in the 6 years we’ve been visiting. I had the ground beef taco and my wife had the Caesar salad and had a side order of grilled chicken with it. Our friend had fish and chips. We all enjoyed our meal. Highly recommended for an inexpensive supper.More

I had a lime margaretta that was made with supreme brand tequila and fresh lime juice. No added sugar water or sweetener. No bitter after taste as well. Mabels was friendly and helpful. Will have to try some more of their fabulous food. Mabel employes…local mexicans to produce quality food and willing to modify to suit your tastes. So if you want something other than what is on the menu, just ask. They are more than willing to accomodate.More

Food drinks and service were great. Only problem was the music was way too loud. It was also very warm . The presentation of the food was beautiful.

Mabel’s just moved to the corner of Avenida Mexico and their food is spectacular!! we had eaten there before they moved from Calle Mina but this is such better location IMO. We went with another PV couple last night & they did not disappoint. Everyone…said it was THE BEST margarita they’ve had in PV. The owners Mae (also the chef) & her husband Adam are the most congenial hosts ever. one of us had Chile Relleno, another Dorado a la Veracruzana, and another had enchiladas I believe. I’m not a big eater so I ordered an appetizer of chicken empanadas. thee were raves all around. we will be back here soon. I promise you will have te meal of a lifetime. Mae goes to the market every morning at 5AM to get the freshest pick of “the litter” –More

Read about this place on a “spread sheet” review done over covid times. Wow, am I glad I did! Not only are flavors great but so are the people. Mabel and Adam are so welcoming and so fun to talk with. They will be moving…the location soon a few blocks away so make sure you follow where they are. Margaritas and sangria were yummy too. My husband said it was the best Chili Relleno he’s ever had and the pea soup……so good! We know we have found a new favorite with Mabels.More

So very glad we found Mae and Adam’s place on tripadvisor while we were in PV for one night before an early morning flight the next day. Everything about their place was wonderful: location right off the Malecon, but quiet, decor, menu had lots of…tempting choices, everything was fresh, fresh, fresh and delicious. Fabulous margaritas. Loved chatting with Mae and Adam. I’m directing my friends there and hope to return if I’m in PV.More

a new friend turned us on to this gem of a place. you are welcomed warmly to the wonderfully decorated place that is only about a year old. Right now they are working with an abbreviated menu but the regular menu also looked spectacular. Hubby…& i shared a caesar salad & a lasagna, which they divided for us on separate plates. I had a chance to chat with Mae & believe me her food is made with tons of love. Food & that restaurant are her baby & she takes care of them as she would her own child. Service was impeccable – i cant wait to go back & try the papas braves & work my way through her menu!!More

Mabel’s is a perfect example of why it is worthwhile to go even one block off the Malecon to dine and drink! The food is incredible with high end presentation for a reasonable price. Best of all is Mae’s margarita! None of this simple syrup…bs! They know how to make a proper margarita with fresh squeezed lime juice and just booze! perfecto! Service is impeccable and you feel as if you’re visiting an open house party with many friends. Mabel’s is a must stop if you want something in a great location but more authentic and not as “touristy”More

The food, decor, drinks, but mostly the owner and staff are amazing!!!! This is a “do not miss” when in Centro. Tucked away a couple of doors off the Malecon on Calle Mina, near the centre of the Malecon, this gem is a place that…we will return to over and over again!!!More

The owner, Mabel (Mae), greeted us at the door and showed us to the upstairs balcony seat, which is lovely. The table has both a view of the Bay and the Malecon. We had lots to talk about with her since we are fellow Canadians…and she had just returned from Calgary that afternoon. Our waitress was very attentive and brought us super-cold beer in a frosted mug while we were deciding on our order. Mae helped us with our choices. I had an appetizer of Patatas Bravas (fried potatoes with sea salt and two different dips) and chicken quesadilla for the main. My husband had sweet pea soup followed by chicken souvlaki tacos. Both of his choices were very good. We enjoyed all the dishes, shared with one another, and were both completely stuffed when finished. While we were waiting for our meals, Mabel brought us taco chips and when we said we had a cilantro sensitivity she made us up our own salsa without it. Mabel and the waitress both checked on us frequently and Mabel even told us how to look for the whales in the Bay. Both Mae and her husband Adam were very friendly and welcoming to the restaurant. As we were leaving Mae gave us a hug and thanked us for coming. This restaurant is less than a year old, but as Mae says it is her passion and we were able to tell by the quality of the food and the friendly service. We hope to be able to come back both on this trip and if we come back to Puerto Vallarta in the future. This restaurant is a short walk from Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. It features Mexican food with a “Mae” twist. The food is delicious and is presented beautifully.More

Walk 25 steps from the Malecón into THE place to have your culinary experience. Try the sweet pea soup or have the camaron. You won’t be disappointed. Ask for the margarita when you walk in and never look back. It’s a must.

Mabel’s has great menu with a excellent mix of Canadian and Mexican choices. It was difficult to make a choice since everything sounded so good. I chose the fish taco with aioli and it was great. A fish taco in which you could actually taste…the fish. A great concept! My wife had an appetizer of fried potatoes with aioli and a brava sauce. She loved it. Mabel was a great hostess and we will definitely return often.More
